Mission Statement and Goals
Victims before criminals - When a conflict of interests arises between the rights of a victim and a criminal, the victims rights takes precedence even when, in its fulfillment, the rights of the criminal may not only be ignored but actively infringed upon.
Justice before legalism - The law should stand to serve justice not hinder it. If the mere application of law undermines apparent justice, then the legal principle should be considered subservient to the dictates of justice.
Victims of crime eligible for legal aid assistance to pursue justice.
A complete overhaul of the criminal justice system - The justice system to be predicated on the three prioritized goals of crime reduction and prevention; siding with victims of crime and the law-abiding; and the re-instatement of punishment, shame, and retribution as legitimate means to deter re-offending.
Assets of those punishable by imprisonment for a term of three years or longer are to be seized for victim support unless proven to be lawfully obtained.
Everyone accused and charged of crime will have a limited right to legal aid - those found guilty will have the full cost of their legal aid bill as a debt to be paid and/or worked off during their prison term except and unless, they have pleaded guilty.
Fundamental changes to the criminal justice system to be assented by referendum. |

Are You a Victim of a Crime?
Welcome and Greetings.
This website is dedicated to and a voice for victims of crime. The crime committed against you may be as simply as someone denting your car at the supermarket and driving away without leaving a note. It could be a tradesman who overcharged on a shoddy job or a business you did work for and they failed to pay the bill. (we have a black list section where you can warn others about them) Your neighbourhood may be plagued with yapping dogs, it could be graffiti on your fence all the way up to family violence and worse. Even if nothing has ever happened to you, you are still a victim, your tax dollars are paying for what is a near $2 billion dollar industry. (in New Zealand) Before we look at services you might be able to access let’s look at what the state provides for the criminal.
A multi million fund for their legal representative. Unless you the victim are near destitute forget it. Here are some of the benefits the state will provide the criminal once they are proven to qualify.
Centrally heated accommodation, three meals a day from quality chefs, gymnasiums, private exercise yards, library, voluntary education, TV and radio, medical benefits, religion, landscape gardening, communal gathering points to join with other qualifiers.
You, as the victim pay, all from your tax dollars – make you feel good?
This website is designed as a forum for you to: discuss, questions, offer advice, or inquire. You will see at the registration section you will be asked to select a nickname. That is the only identification you will have. This is to protect you from attention by disagreeable people, (we cant control who visits and what their morals are – although they can be traced) nobody can communicate directly with anyone else.
There will be a regular guest contributors who are recommended to us and have in our view a message you should know about.
People and businesses that have services they feel will be of value can advertise on the site. You can refer this to friends, family and associates. Crime is the tip of an enormous iceberg – the break down of society. We have to get the ME factor out and the WE factor back in and get people back talking to each and with a safer society that can happen.
Once again welcome.
The Editor. |
